Mission Statement:

Peace Pledge, Japan(PPJ) has been established in Tokyo, Japan since August 1999, as a voluntary non-profit organization, to implement and coordinate the Pledge Movement. PPJ's activity does not represent any particular religious, political or corporate organization. We do not aim to clear our standpoint on the utilization of nuclear energy.

Peace Pledge Movement for Scientists (the Pledge Movement) is intended to contribute to regional and global peace to enhance dialogue among scientists and to arose self awareness and responsibility. The activities for these aims are carried out by asking scientists everywhere in the world to sign on a pledge not to participate in research, development, manufacture, acquisition and utilization of nuclear weapons as well as of other weapons of mass distraction.
